🌱 Nurtured Roots Guild: Building the Foundation of Our Lives

Evolving from monthly gatherings in 2025, NRG offers a grounded and supportive space to strengthen our inner lives, explore foundational aspects of well-being, and grow alongside others through guided practices, honest reflection, and intentional connection.

FAQs

What is a Community of Practice?

A Community of Practice is a group of people who learn from one another by:

  • Sharing ideas, skills, and experiences
  • Building supportive relationships
  • Co-creating tools and insights related to shared goals

We’ve named this group the Nurtured Roots Guild (NRG) because we’re here to tend to what stabilizes us, to grow into the lives we’re called to live.

Our theme as we start NRG is “Building the Foundation of Our Lives.” This means we’re focused on creating strong, meaningful lives that propel us to serve beyond ourselves, likely in ways we never have before.

This community grew out of monthly gatherings called the Vision Club, which began meeting in January 2025. It started after we had a powerful experience creating vision boards together with a group of people across the U.S. on the winter solstice in 2024. The facilitators of that event saw how helpful it was to support each other in making our goals visible — so we kept it going with monthly gatherings.

We’ve explored our values in relation to short-term and long-term goals; expectations of ourselves and others, and vice versa; action-planning to bring our visions to life through tangible connections in our daily lives; and the stages of development.

Now, NRG is the next step. It builds on what we started with Vision Club and adds even more support to help each participant grow and live our most fulfilled lives.

What to expect?

Within the Nurtured Roots Guild, we will use similar approaches that we’ve facilitated in the Vision Club — outlined below, which have been shaped by each of the participants. You can expect:

  • Monthly gatherings with discussion on the topics listed above. The prompts and facilitated exercises during the sessions will be recorded and shared if you’re unable to attend live.
  • Weekly prompts shared via email to guide how we think about these pillars of our lives
  • One co-working session each month to support participants in staying with their goals and having companionship to explore what comes up along the way

If you’ve participated in our Vision Club monthly gatherings, you have a sense of what to expect. Each month we gather to focus on a specific topic. During each gathering we begin with a grounding practice, then a guided visualization. Next we walk through prompts to frame how we’ll explore the topic(s) together, break out to do co-working on our own, and then return to share what we’ve found during the exploration. Professional facilitators, guides, and healing arts practitioners lead the gatherings and discussions, yet each person can share openly throughout.

We’ve had folks who have never been able to experience visualization share that they were able to see things during the guided process and experience deeper insights. This is a gift to witness! Profound shifts can happen when we look inward in safe, grounded, and supported ways.

Why Should We Focus on Building the Foundation of our Lives?

A strong foundation is required for life in the 21st century, yet building a strong foundation is also more challenging than ever. Every day we’re responding to things we’ve never had to even think about before 2020. Collective traumas and complex issues are likely draining your energy and safeguarding against this isn’t always easy.

Our lives have changed fundamentally in a short amount of time, and it’s only reasonable to expect that these changes will continue, or even accelerate. Whether your career or family dynamics have changed, or you’ve been uprooted in another way, if you’re feeling like we are, reestablishing the foundation of our lives is in order. Particularly as we attempt to access deeper parts of ourselves that require more honesty and fortification.

From gathering in the Vision Club, we’ve seen common themes that would benefit from more support to make our visions come to life. In order to become the people who embody our visions, we need to tend to the fundamentals of our lives. Consider the following:

  • Do we know what we need to pursue our most fulfilled life?
  • Are there aspects of our life that would benefit from more support?
  • What would it take to embody trust and confidence to do what’s best for ourselves, despite the challenges we may face?
